The hot springs of Gross Barmen are very popular with Namibians. The 65 C degree hot healing water with a sulphuric smell is rich in minerals. It is cooled down to 41 degrees and channelled into an indoor basin. There is another basin outside with 30 degree warm water and a childrens' basin.

The thermal spa lies amidst beautiful nature on a little dam that is bordered by thick reed stands. Here one can go for beautiful walks and enjoy the rich birdlife. The park is open all year round, daily from 7h00 to 23h00. There is accommodation in nice chalets on a B&B basis available as well as a camping ground.

Von Bach Dam

The 43 sqkm nature and game park lies about 5km south of Okahandja around a big dam, the main water reservoir for Windhoek. The park is very popular with watersports enthusiasts from Windhoek and can be quite lively over the weekends. There is a camping ground and plain huts.
