Maltahöhe forms a good base for visiting the Namib Naukluft Park as well as the Sossusvlei, which lies some 190 kms west. The Maltahöhe Hotel and the guest farms in the surrounding area all offer tours to the Sussusvlei: a 4 x 4 is required if one wants to drive into the Vlei.
Duwisib CastleDuwisib Castle today is a museum and is open daily from 8h00 to 17h00. Entry: 100 N$ per person. Guided tour included. Children under the age of 6 stay free of charge, 6-12 years old pay 50%.
There is a camping ground at the castle with 10 sites. A campsite without electricity costs per night 100 N$ per site plus 50 N$ per person (max. 8 people). Tel 061-236975.
