The park is completely unfenced. Restcamps are NOT serviced by NWR any more. Camping is free but at your own risk. No facilities. Water is normally available (elephant-safe).

Malaria
The entire north-east of Namibia and the neighbouring countries are malaria area. Especially in the rainy season one should take prophylactic medicine and - most important - protect oneself from mosquito bites by using repellants.

Access to KaudomGame Park
Access from the south (Tsumkwe): Go north at the school in Tsumkwe and follow the road for some 20 km. Ignore all the turn-offs and carry on straight, until, after 30 km, you reach the park. The Sikereti Camp lies another 8 km from there. Time required: 3 to 4 hours.
Access from the north (Katere): From Rundu it is another 120 km in southern direction to Katere. Follow the road to the south for 43 km. Extrem difficult sandy track. Turn left. After about 20 km you get to the Khaudum Camp. Time required for Katere - Khaudum: 5 to 6 hours or more.
The park is open all year round from sunrise to sunset. One is only allowed to travel the park in a convoy of at least two 4x4's and must bring petrol, food and water for at least three days. You may leave your vehicle wherever you like, but be careful of lions etc. Also beware of wild animals in the restcamps. Petrol is only available in Tsumkwe and Mukwe/Divundu. Avoid this area in the rainy season. Caravans and campers, trailers, domestic animals and motorbikes are not allowed.All roads are very soft and sandy and are only suitable for 4x4's. The tyre pressure should be reduced to 1 bar. Bring two spare tyres, a spade, highlift jack (plus stable ground sheet). GPS recommended.
