Kaudom National Park, situated north of Tsumkwe at the border to Botswana, is the most pristine nature conservation area in Namibia. The park lies in the Kalahari Sandveld and is 3842 sqkm in area. The landscape is characterised by dry forests with a couple of Omiramba, broad sandy riverbeds that only run after heavy rainfalls for a short time.
The park is very rich in game. During the winter months, one can view all sorts of wildlife at the waterholes, like large herds of elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, many antelope species, hyena, lion, leopard and more than 300 different species of birds.
