AccessThe Waterberg Park is easily accessible. Take the B1 from Windhoek to the north. 28 kilometres before Otjiwarongo you turn on to the C22 and then on to the B2512. The gate is open from 6h00 to 9h00. After heavy rains the road might become impassable. One should telephone the park's office to find out about the condition of the road. Tel 067-305001.
Tours The Waterberg Game Reserve lies on the plateau. Although you may not use your own car due to the soft sand of the terrain, the park management offers tours in open four-wheel drives. They start early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Bring warm clothing, and something to protect your camera from dust. Price per person: 100 N$. Waterberg Wilderness Trail Hikes take place under the guidance of a park ranger on the second, third and fourth weekend of each month from April to November. The hikes always start on thursdays at 4 pm at the Onjoka Gate and end on the following Sunday afternoon. Group size: 3 to 8 persons. Costs: N$ 220 per person. One has to bring provisions and a sleeping bag along. Early booking in Windhoek required. |

| Bernabé de la Bat Restcamp There is a nice Restcamp in the Waterberg Park with bungalows with 1 or 2 bedrooms. Each bungalow has a kitchen with fridge and stove, however without cutlery and crockery. Bedding, towels and soap provided. The Bernabé de la Bat Restcamp also has a campground, a restaurant, shop and a large swimming pool. Open all year round. Restaurant 7 to 8:30; 12 to 13:30; 19 to 21:00. Bar: 12 to 14; 18 to 22:00.
