Crocodile Ranch
The Crocodile Farm lies on the eastern outskirts, in Zingel Street, where there is also a camping ground. The park is open from Mondays to Fridays from 9h00 to 16h00 and only on weekend mornings. Tel 067-302121.
 Cheetah Conservation Trust CCF
The American Cheetah Conservation Fund maintains a very up-to-date information centre within the Waterberg Conservancy. The cheetahs of Southern Africa might, thanks to the endeavours of the DeWildt centre near Pretoria, not be on the endangered list anymore. Their numbers are, however, still very small. Because cheetahs are diurnally active and sometimes preyed on sheep, they were frequently shot by farmers. The Cheetah Centre lies about 45 kilometres south-east of Otjiwarongo. One can access it via the D2440.
 AfriCat Foundation
The AfriCat Foundation on the farm Okonjima is dedicated to the protection of the big cats in Africa. Track cheetahs and leopards in their natural environment or visit the Welfare Project of AfriCat. The Africat Foundation is the world's largest Cheetah and Leopard rescue and release program. Over 800 big cats saved in 11 years. Farm and lodge lie 47 km south of Otjiwarongo. Tel 067-304563.

Bäckerei Café Carstens. Georges Street, in the centre of town, signposted. Traditional German dishes for lunch. Excellent and inexpensive. And the best German cheesecake in Namibia!
Kameldorn Garten. Hindenburg Street, diagonally opposite the Shell garage. Popular beer garden and bistro with snacks and light dishes.
