Situated alongside the upper part of the Fish River Canyon, at the edge of the Kalahari, the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge offers unique possibilities for this purpose. With an area of more than 26,000 hectares the associated territory includes a wide variety of landscapes supporting diverse plant-life and providing a safe habitat for both small and large animals.

Accommodation: All 24 ensuite rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with air condition, electricity and a small veranda with a view into the valley. The rooms of the Vogelstrausskluft Lodge are decorated in Namibian style and – like the Lodge itself – fit into the surrounding: Natural materials, earthen colours, unobtrusive patterns.

Comfortably accessible via short paths, the restaurant and reception building is situated in the middle of the lodge. Aside from a restaurant and the reception it offers various spaces for your very individual relaxation: A lounge, a bar, a little library with a reading room and broadband internet connection, as well as a terrace with a small, very special, refreshing pool.

The Vogelstrausskluft offers a variety of interesting, unique possibilities to explore the desert, the Fish River Canyon and Namibias south. E.g. the possibility to descend down into the Canyon rather easily, which is only possible in one other place – the nature reserve at Ai-Ais – where a permit is required.
