Epupa Falls / Kaokoveld

Omarunga Camp lies 180 km north of Opuwo in the heart of Kaokoland, right at the Kunene River and close to the Epupa Falls.

Accommodation: In the shade of Makalani palm trees, are ten comfortable furnished tents, each with own shower/toilette. Omarunga Camp also offers eight camping sites with ablution blocks (hot water) next to the river.

Catering: Omarunga guests can enjoy a cold drink at the bar, next to the Kunene river. Meals are served in the 'open' restaurant. The Epupa falls form a spectectular backdrop while enjoying a sundowner. Campers can also enjoy meals in our restaurant, but must please book in advance.

Tours: Himba tours, with a guide from Omarunga Camp, are offered. The guide will explain the age old tradition of the Himba people.
 Fly-In Safaris are welcome. Airstrip: Length 800m. Co-ordinates S:17°01.78'; E:13°12.84'. For day visitors arriving by air, a Himba tour, visit to the falls and a light lunch can be arranged.

Swimming in the river is not allowed - crocodiles!

Rates per night: N$ 975 for Dinner, B&B per person sharing. Single supplement N$155. Lunch N$90 per perosn. Campsite N$100 per person. Himba tour N$390 per person. Children (6 - 12 y.) pay 50%. Airstrip transfer N$495.
