On your way to Sossusvlei, at Barchan Dune Retreat, you will find congenial hosts, excellent cuisine and something special: a lodge built into a dune with elegantly furnished rooms. Relax a day or two at Barchan Dune Retreat and enjoy the serenity of the mountains and the beauty of the Namib region; boundless views over our valley from the verandah of your room or from our dining area.

Hannetjie and Willem van Rooyen are born in Namibia and fell in love with the Namib desert around Sossusvlei. Today they love to show their guests this grand and beautiful countryside with its soft coulours, the wide open plains, the mountains and the great dunes of the Namib.

Activities: Barchan offers farm drives, hiking trails or you can climb our mountains to experience our magnificent sunrise. Also possible: a sundowner drive to Spreetshoogte Pass or exclusively for the guests, a drive on the farm to a secluded area where you can enjoy a sundowner while the sky explodes into magnificent colours and the sun escapes across the horizon..... an unforgettable experience. Enquire about weddings and musical evenings at Barchan Dune Retreat. On easter weekends classical music in nature is offered.		 Wheelchair friendly with a paved walkway and the wheelchair friendly shower facility.

Access from Windhoek: Drive on the B1 in the direction of REHOBOTH, pass Rehoboth and 4 km after Rehoboth turn off to the right at the sign 'KLEIN AUB'. Drive on the C 24 till the sign 'NAUCHAS/SOLITAIRE' then turn to the right on the D 1261. After NAUCHAS turn off to the right on the D 1275 which takes you over SPREETSHOOGTE PASS. Approximately 20 km from the pass on the left hand side you will find the sign of BARCHAN DUNE RETREAT. From the entrance it is 3 km to the accommodation.

Rates: Double room from N$682 per person including Dinner, Bed and Breakfast.

Kindly note: No credit card facilities. The nearest bank to Barchan Dune Retreat is in Windhoek or Walvis Bay.
